In 2016 I moved back to the UK, having spent 6 years traveling abroad.  I had managed a backpackers in Cambodia, built a surf camp in Indonesia and trained horses on a Cattle Ranch in Australia, but I ended up running a start up company which generated new leads through cold calling in Melbourne.

This it when it dawned on me, every conversation we have is an act of persuasion, to our way of thinking, our sense of humour, or to coax them to share theirs. Whether we attach a sale at the end it almost irrelevant; what is important is our ability to have quality conversations.

This is the ethos that Empty Caterpillar is based on. I design and deliver training that improves the ability to ask the right questions, in the right way and listen to understand our clients or teams.

What will my return on investment be?

The most obvious return on investment of any training I offer is an increase in conversation rates. Some leads are highly likely to book, some are highly likely not to, but the majority rely on skilled sales staff to communicate a real passion for their product and demonstrate an understanding of what each individual client needs. My training promotes a consultative sales approach that will allow your team to do this consistently.

Companies with comprehensive employee training programs have 218% higher income per employee than companies without formalised training (Forbes 2024)

Employees want to feel as though the company they work in, is invested in them and their development. By providing structured training from an external source you will aid retention of your staff any allowing them to convert more sales, thus earning more commission and gaining more from the time they invest at work.

86% of millennial employees reported that they would be kept from leaving their current positions if training and development were offered by their employers, according to a Lorman Learning Services study

Good management can make all the difference to an employees experience in fact two in five employees have left a job at some point in their career due to poor management, based on a survey conducted by Visier. This is why alongside out sales trains I also provide management training to ensure everybody is equipped with a strong foundation that allows a happy and productive workplace. This is something employees in leadership positions are also crying out for in fact 67% of Gen X leaders want more external coaching and 57% want external development (Lorman Learning Services Study)

New Online Course Dates Availible

Each session will be delivered remotely and is open to people from different companies. The groups will be kept small so that I can ensure a collaborative learning environment and can provide individual feedback.

Session 1 - This will focus on active listening and how to question our clients effectively. We will explore TED, open and closed questions, how to use the questioning funnel and ensure we receive the information we need to design clients the best possible trip, leaving them feeling confident in our customer service.

Session 2 - This is focus on recognising four key client types, how they like communicate and how best to persuade them. We will explore our own preferences so that delegates are able to adapt their own style to effectively build rapport with all potential clients.

These sessions will run in November and December to ensure your sales teams are best placed to convert leads in Q1.
